We stock over 200 water pumps and booster pump kits, from R359 econo peripheral units up to 15,000L tank-and-VSD combos north of R25,000. With that much range, the question isn’t “which pump is best” — it’s which type actually matches your job.
The three pump types, in plain terms
Peripheral pumps (like our Econo range) are the entry point — small, single-phase, good for low-rise domestic transfer and topping up a header tank. They move modest volumes at modest pressure and are the cheapest way to get water from A to B.
Monoblock pumps step up in flow and head, and are the workhorse choice for general household and small commercial pressure boosting — irrigation, borehole feed, general transfer where you need more push than a peripheral pump gives you.
VSD (Variable Speed Drive) booster pumps — our Smart VSD and Intelli VSD ranges — add electronic speed control that ramps the motor up and down to match actual demand, instead of running flat-out or cycling on/off. That means steadier pressure at the tap, less mechanical wear from constant starts, and lower running costs on a system that sees variable demand through the day (a house, a small estate, a commercial kitchen).
Matching kW to the job
Our range runs from 0.37kW econo units through 0.55kW, 0.75kW, 1.1kW and up to 1.5kW VSD systems. As a rough guide: 0.37-0.55kW suits a single household topping up from a tank; 0.75-1.1kW handles a full house on mains or borehole pressure boosting; 1.5kW VSD systems are sized for multi-outlet demand — bigger homes, small complexes, or a business where several taps and appliances can run at once.
Tank + pump combos vs pump alone
A large share of our range ships as a combo — a slim tank or standard tank paired with a matched pump — because sizing a tank and pump separately is where most DIY installs go wrong (undersized tank, oversized pump, or the reverse). Our Executive and Full House combo kits pair tank capacity (1,200L to 15,000L) with a pump already matched to that volume, so there’s no guesswork on compatibility.
Petrol-driven pumps
For sites without reliable grid power — construction, agriculture, remote boreholes — our petrol-driven recoil-start pumps (2.5 bar and up) give you transfer capability with no electrical dependency at all.
